Taking my inspiration from old fashioned ribbon candy from Christmas holidays gone by I have been crafting a candy Christmas tree for the past few years.
A child once tried to eat one of the ornaments and cried when he found out it wasn’t real. I always make sure that I have the real thing on hand now. Can’t have crying children at Christmas time.
Ribbon candy ornaments can also be used as party favors and look charming adorning Christmas gifts.
Making a pattern is a good idea if you are going to make a lot of these ornaments.
Martha Stewart has a great ribbon candy ornament tutorial here.

Lynette, you are a genius. I love ribbon candy, and your ornaments are inspiring….LOVE them! Is this sweet little tree in your kitchen?
I wish I could put it in my kitchen but I have a very small kitchen. Have a wonderful holiday!
The ornaments are adorable. I can certainly understand why one would think they were real. This is one those incredibly clever things where one says “Why didn’t I think of that”. However, I do copy well.
Merry Christmas, Ginger
These are absolutely adorable. Very clever 🙂
Just wondering who eats all that candy after the holidays are over?
The candy on the tree is glass.
Just popping over from the party at Between Naps On The Porch. I looove the ribbon candy decorations and especially as a decoration on a gift, that is just so clever!
