I have fallen in love with old, stately secretary/desks. Breathing new life into them is very enjoyable. These old relics are like family time capsules. I have found old letters, handwritten receipts for purchases made years ago, faded black and white photos, newspaper clippings, old post cards and even an old will stuffed behind a drawer.

Now I find that I have four secretaries and only have room for two. When I finish the 4th one it is moving to my Master Bedroom. The upper cabinet will be for my children’s photos and the lower drawers for clothes. The other secretary is a 100-year-old writing desk which is going into my pantry as a coffee/tea station (photo below). The blue paint is done in Behr paint plus primer. Home Depot color matched a Pratt and Lambert paint sample perfectly (Blue Zircon 1270). I love this new line of paint.
